13/04/2014 - BDSA is pleased to announce that it has achieved Bolton Mark Inclusion status.
April 2014 - BDSA have recently been successful in achieving membership of 'Bolton Together'. This was formerly known as Bolton Children and Young People's Third Sector Forum and is a collection of 29 different organisations. Some hold full membership and are able to bid for contracts; whilst others such as BDSA are forum members and able to share information and network. There are also associate members such as Bolton CVS and Bolton Council.

Also BDSA have just been accepted as a member of Bolton CVS, the local grouping of voluntary organizations. This also brings many valuable networking opportunities and ability to access training and different forums.

BDSA looks forward to working with and through both organisations in the future.

01/04/2014 -

NCS or National Citizen Service is a national government initiative aiming to equip young people with new skills and experiences to allow them to become the citizens of the future. The programme has a residential, followed by the group of young people planning and carrying out their own community project. Once complete the participants receive a certificate of completion signed by David Cameron. The skills and experiences young people build are fantastic and as a whole really helps to build confidence and independence.

Our programme is running over the Easter holidays with the residential phase being Monday 14th April to Thursday 17th April. I am heading up this residential and we will accommodate to everyone’s needs, there are spaces for 12 young people.

We would really appreciate your assistance in helping us offer and promote this amazing opportunity to 16 to 25 year old young people with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

I’d like to thank you in advance for your support with this opportunity. Please contact me with any questions or if we would like me to speak directly to a young person and family."

Kind Regards

Nicola Rigby
